On September 2, 2023, one week after her 18th birthday, Gabby went to celebrate the end of summer and the start of her senior year with her friends. Shortly after 1am on September 3, 2022, her and two of her friends were tragically victims of a drunk driving accident. Gabby was flown to Erie County Medical Center to receive life saving treatment after the accident occurred. There we all found out she had multiple injuries, including punctured lungs, and a fracture dislocation in her C-4 and C-5 vertebrae, a compressed spinal cord leaving her paralyzed from the shoulders down. Throughout the 15 months she had after the accident, she had been hospitalized multiple times, had countless surgeries, and regular blood transfusions. She faced so much more than anyone should ever have to face during these 15 months, but she neve stopped fighting. She passed away December 12th, 2023, leaving behind two older brothers, an older sister, both of her parents, many other family members and friends, and all 5 of her pets to try to navigate a life and world without the most caring, funny, spontaneous, stubborn, and protective human in their lives.
